So how much do you think someone has to make to be categorized a white-collar employee? Depends on where he or she lives; and the difference can be substantial.

It could be as high as 18,500 yuan ($2,481) per month in Hong Kong or a mere 900 yuan ($120) in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, with about 5,000 yuan ($670) making the cut in Beijing.

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) released its findings over the weekend in the 2007 White-collar Workers Salary Standard in Major Chinese Cities - the first of its kind.

The benchmarks in some major cities at the upper end are: 8,900 yuan ($1,194) in Macao, 5,350 yuan ($717) in Shanghai, 5,280 yuan ($708) in Shenzhen of Guangdong Province, 4,980 yuan ($668) in Hangzhou of Zhejiang Province and 4,750 yuan ($637) in Guangzhou of Guangdong Province.

At the lower end are: 1,300 yuan ($174) in Nanning of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 1,100 yuan ($148) in Yinchuan of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Xining of Qinghai Province.

The report was based on a comprehensive calculation of many local factors including commodity prices, living expenses, transportation costs and urbanization level.

But for some people, the income levels are only an academic exercise.

"The 5,000-yuan standard is vastly different for people who have to pay monthly mortgages and for those who don't," said Liu Meiyu, a 28-year-old architect who works for Beijing Design and Research Institute and bought a two-bedroom apartment a few months ago with bank loans.

"A monthly salary of 10,000 yuan ($1,341) might be just right for a white-collar benchmark," she told China Daily.

Lhasa's low figure has also raised some doubts. "The 900-yuan level is far too low as the cost of living is not low at all," said Lei Wenzheng, a local tourist guide.

A manager at a local department store can earn an average of 2,000 to 3,000 yuan ($402) a month, while public servants are paid higher there than those in eastern provinces as the central government provides extra subsidies, according to Lei.

Xia Xueluan, a professor in social sciences of Peking University, said income alone is not the determining factor. "White-collar' or 'middle-class' means a combination of factors such as wealth, power and prestige, not simply income or property, Xia said.

Your Cat Might Be Trying to Call
At the police department, the phone rang. “Hallo, hallo!” the policeman answered. “I’ve lost my cat!” And the policeman said, “I’m sorry, sir, that’s not the job of the police. We’re too busy!” The person said, “But you don’t understand. This is a very intelligent cat! He’s almost human; he can practically talk!” So the policeman said, “Then you’d better hang up. He might be trying to call you!”

Do you understand the value of a second language?
A mother mouse was out for a stroll with her babies when she spotted a cat crouched behind a bush. She watched the cat, and the cat watched the mice.
Mother mouse barked fiercely, "Woof, woof, woof!" The cat was so terrified that it ran for it's life.
Mother mouse turned to her babies and said, "Now, do you understand the value of a second language?"

Today is a gift.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room‘s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn‘t hear the band - he could see it in his mind‘s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly and painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

If a new lanugage is added as "/L20", for example, the language list will look like this:

     8. ...
     9. JavaScript
     10. language 10
     ...
     19. language 19
     20. The New Language You Added

The default languages in wordfile.txt are numbered from /L1 to /L9. New languages that are added should not conflict with those, or with each other. For example, Python 2 and and Unix Shell Scripts are *both* numbered /L20. So one or the other has to change, if both extensions are to be added. You add new languages by appending the contents of appropriate wordfile to wordfile.txt.

If it is desired to incorporate multiple wordfiles into the default wordfile it may be easiest to download and save these in a temporary directory and work from the saved local copies while editing the wordfile. You can open the active wordfile for editing by going to Advanced -> Configuration -> Syntax Highlighting (in UltraEdit) and clicking on the Open button.

To edit wordfile.txt go to Advanced --> Configuration --> Syntax Highlighting and click on the "Open" button beside the "Full path name for wordlist". After editing the file, it is not necessary to restart UltraEdit. The changes take effect immediately, as may be seen by reloading a file with an extension listed in one of the newly added wordfiles.

In the case of the zip files you will need to download these and unzip them and then copy and paste the wordfiles from the archive. UltraEdit's help file includes help on modifying the wordfile if it is needed under Syntax Highlighting.

Desire.

Scream.

i'm screaming, i'm losing all of it
i'm trying to be mature someday
but 'til now it's still in vain
i'm bearing. i'm losing all of it
i'm trying to go on this path
but you said i haven't get the jests
i'm screaming. i'm losing all of it
i'm trying to be perfect someday
i'm bearing; i'm losing all of it
i'm trying to be understood
but you said i haven't had seen it yet
but you said i haven't see the points
i'm losing all of it
i'll try it out; i'll try it out
i'm trying out sometime
i'll try it out someday

Not going anywhere..]

this is why i always wonder
i m a pond full of regrets
i always try to not remember rather than forget

this iswhy i always whisper
when vagabonds are passing by
i tend to keep myself away from their goodbyes

tide will rise and fall along the bay
and i m not going anywhere
i m not going anywhere
people come and go and walk away
but i m not going anywhere
i m not going anywhere

this is why i alaways whisper
i m a river whit a spell
i like to hear but not to listen,i like to say but not to tell

this is why i always wonder
there s nothing new under the sun
i won‘t go anywhere so give my love to everyone

tide will rise and fall along the bay
and i m not going anywhere
i m not going anywhere
poeple come ang ga and walk away
but i m not going anywhere
i m not going anywhere
